Nutts Corner Belfast -Onsite- Fulltime

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Deliver key IT responsibilities
  • Plan and carry out work to meet the organisation's IT needs.
  • Manage external IT support contracts for systems and hardware.
  • Handle internal IT help desk queries and provide regular updates.
  • Lead IT projects that improve how the organisation works.
  • Develop long-term IT proposals and assess their suitability for future projects.
  • Provide short training sessions to help staff improve their IT skills.
  • Manage IT budget areas and ensure spending is tracked.
  • Prepare purchase requests and business cases when needed.

  1. Communicate effectively
  • Share ideas and proposals clearly in writing, in person, and through presentations - whether speaking to individuals or groups at any level.

  1. Build and manage partnerships
    • Negotiate agreements with partners to deliver services.
    • Monitor how well partners perform and make sure services meet expectations.

  1. Plan and deliver role responsibilities
  • Create and follow plans to make sure all duties linked to the role are completed successfully.

  1. Track project progress
    • Monitor how projects are progressing and take action if things go off track.

  1. Manage project budgets
  • Set and oversee project budgets and report on how funds are used.

  1. Support strategic planning
  • Help the Director develop and manage the organisation's strategy, operational plans, budgets, and performance measures.

  1. Stay up to date
  • Keep your management skills current and stay informed about developments in the industry and in project management.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 4 or equivalent qualification in Business, IT Management, or a related discipline and a minimum 1 years' experience providing IT support.

Or

  • 3 years experience managing IT support.

AND

  • Proven experience in managing third-party IT service providers and contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal IT support/help desk functions

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, delivery, and evaluation
  • Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills,
  • Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools
  • Ability to monitor performance and take corrective action to meet objectives

Interpersonal & Organisational

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • High level of organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in drafting and managing budgets and procurement processes
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans
  • Experience in developing and delivering staff IT training interventions
  • Experience in evaluating long-term IT proposals and digital transformation initiatives
  • Understanding of public sector governance and funding mechanisms
