Job Opportunity: Band 3 Finance Officer (Financial Accounts)
Location: Antrim Area Hospital or Greenmount House, Ballymena

Rate of Pay £12.31 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to support the Financial Accounts team within NHSCT. The successful candidate may be placed at either Antrim Hospital Cash Office or Finance Department, Greenmount House Ballymena, depending on operational needs.
This Band 3 role involves assisting with the day-to-day operations of financial functions including Charitable Trust Funds, Patient's Private Property, petty cash, travel expenses, and financial reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain petty cash and catering department floats.
- Process patient travel expenses and liaise with relevant departments.
- Manage Safe Register and controlled stationery.
- Handle remittance advice forms and correspondence for discharged/deceased clients.
- Liaise with external bodies and internal staff regarding financial affairs.
- Assist with receipts, payments, reconciliations, and system uploads.
- Support year-end processes and audit preparation.
- Contribute to financial reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Criteria
- Experience: Minimum 1 year relevant finance experience
OR- Qualifications: AS Level in Business/Finance or equivalent (QCF Level 3)
- Other: Full UK driving licence and access to a car (unless exempt due to disability)
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Analytical skills to interpret financial data
- Understanding of NHSCT structure and finance issues in Health and Social Care
