Location: Newtownards (Covering Ards &amp; North Down and Lisburn &amp; Castlereagh Council areas Start Date: ASAP Duration: Minimum 4 months subject to review Rate of Pay: £17.43 per hourHours of Work:<ul><li>Flexible working hours, including evenings.</li><li>Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (evening work may be offset by time off in lieu).</li><li>Travelling and subsistence will be paid in line with NICS Policy.</li></ul><hr /><h3>Main Duties:</h3><ul><li>Operate within the policies and guidelines of the Youth Justice Agency (YJA) as directed by management.</li><li>Support and challenge young people (aged 10-17) in or on the fringes of the Criminal Justice System to desist from offending and improve their life chances.</li><li>Oversee, supervise, and manage Court Orders, Public Prosecution Service Plans, and voluntary arrangements.</li><li>Facilitate Youth Engagement Clinics in partnership with the Police Service for Northern Ireland and the Public Prosecution Service.</li><li>Conduct assessments, including the Youth Justice Agency Assessment, to develop tailored intervention plans addressing risk, vulnerability, and health and safety.</li><li>Undertake Youth Conferences to ensure restorative interventions and incorporate victims' views.</li><li>Work closely with victims, ensuring their voices are heard and their engagement is supported.</li><li>Collaborate with young people, families, communities, and professionals to support positive behavioral change and reduce offending.</li><li>Establish multi-agency and community networks for partnership-based interventions and reintegration of young people.</li><li>Source, risk assess, and manage meaningful Reparative Activity placements.</li><li>Prepare and deliver high-quality oral and written reports for case conferences, reviews, and Courts.</li><li>Maintain accurate records in line with YJA case recording policy.</li><li>Promote and deliver restorative approaches to support young people and engage victims.</li><li>Participate in training, supervision, team meetings, and staff development programs.</li><li>Serve as an Officer of the Court.</li><li>Perform other reasonable duties within the role's scope.</li></ul><hr /><h3>Essential Criteria:</h3><ul><li>Qualifications: Degree in Social Work or Degree in Youth and Community Work.</li><li>Experience: Demonstrated experience of:<ul><li>Working with young people displaying challenging behavior.</li><li>Writing formal reports.</li></ul></li><li>Transport: Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for travel, including to remote areas not accessible by public transport.</li><li>Other Requirements:<ul><li>Registered with NISCC.</li><li>Warner interview applicable.</li></ul></li></ul><hr />How to Apply: To apply, please submit your CV to or apply below.
