MAIN PURPOSE
To support the migration of payroll data from an existing legacy system to a new HR and payroll platform (iTrent). This is a project role requiring advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Payroll Team Manager and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and successful transfer of payroll data during the transition period.
To contribute as an integral member of the Finance team to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive Financial Services to support the vision and mission of NIFRS outlined below:
Key Responsibilities
- Extract, cleanse, and manipulate large volumes of payroll-related data using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
- Prepare datasets for upload and verify data accuracy before and after migration to iTrent.
- Assist in system testing and validation exercises to ensure accurate functionality of the new platform.
- Collaborate with payroll colleagues to clarify data inconsistencies or legacy system queries.
- Maintain clear audit trails and documentation of migration processes.
- Support knowledge transfer and participate in user training and handover procedures as required.
Working Arrangements:
The post is primarily based on-site, with occasional flexibility for hybrid working subject to project demands. Regular engagement with the Payroll Team Manager and wider team is required throughout the lifecycle of the migration project.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel, including formulae, pivot tables, lookups, and data cleansing.
- Basic knowledge of payroll processes and terminology (prior experience in a payroll environment desirable).
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with large datasets and high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with iTrent or other integrated Payroll/HR systems.
- Previous experience in a project-based administrative or data migration role.
