This is a project role requiring advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities. The MET will be expected to work across differing trade disciplines in carrying out their role. <br /><br />To participate in the Regional Standby Rota to facilitate an effective support network to ensure operational resilience is maintained out of hours. Responsible for the repair, maintenance, modification and servicing of all NIFRS emergency response fire vehicles and supporting equipment to standards defined in legislation and best practice. <br /> <br />2. Responsible for diagnosis of faults, carrying out repairs and in depth overhauls on a wide range of specialist vehicles, operational equipment and components. <br /> <br />3. To assist other trades within Fleet &amp; Engineering services and the communication departments, where their skill set is more applicable to affect that repair, including all operational equipment. <br /> <br />4. To participate in the Regional Engineering on call Rota to facilitate an effective support network to ensure operational resilience is maintained out of hours. Whilst on call the MET will be expected to make all repair decisions unsupervised on all aspects of the vehicle and equipment repair. <br /> <br />5. Responsible for carrying out PSV/MOT Inspection to all blue light vehicles to the standard laid down within Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency and the UK National Fire Chief Council utilising NIFRS exemption and "signing" the vehicle as safe to be on the road. <br /><br /><br />Candidate Requirements<br /><br />Essential <br />1. Possess a certified level 3 trade qualification as depicted in the NQF in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance. <br /> <br /> And <br /> <br /> Have at least two years' post apprentice experience working in a trade role in their area of expertise which includes heavy vehicle. <br /> <br />2. Must demonstrate experience in plant mechanics and light vehicle repair. <br /><br />3. Level 3 qualification as depicted in the NQF in vehicle system repair and replacement in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles. <br /> <br />4. Qualified to safely install, maintain and fault find both 240v and 110v electrical systems on vehicles and equipment. <br /> <br />5. Must demonstrate excellent record keeping of computerised repair and inspection data. <br /> <br />6. Competent in the use of IT software and computer systems. <br /> <br />7. Competent in the use of a Management Information System (MIS) for record keeping on repair data. <br /> <br />8. Possess a current UK C Class driving licence. <br /> <br />Additional requirements: <br />1. Applicant must participate in the Regional Engineering on call Rota which involves working antisocial hours including weekends and late nights in order to support emergency response operations. <br /> <br />2.
