The project will provide training opportunities for four young people in thatching, and will engage with primary schools and community groups to explore their local vernacular heritage and stories of those who lived under thatch. The Project Assistant will report to the Heritage Project Manager, and will assist in the day to day delivery of the project.Main Duties/ Responsibilities<ol><li>Project administration including (but not limited to):</li></ol><ul><li>event administration</li><li>responding to project queries</li><li>arranging meetings</li><li>procurement of products/services</li><li>correspondence with project participants.</li></ul><ol start="2"><li>Event planning &amp; delivery</li><li>Social media support, including drafting and scheduling social media posts, creating video content.</li><li>Developing and supporting the delivery of workshops &amp; trips for project participants.</li><li>Researching &amp; developing an exhibition and online StoryMaps.</li><li>Recording historic buildings through photography and video (training provided).</li><li>Assisting in project evaluation and gathering of data through (although not limited to) issue of and input of feedback forms.</li><li>Actively support the health and safety arrangements and procedures to avoid or minimise the risks to health and safety of all those associated with the role.</li></ol><ol start="9"><li>Support the Equal Opportunity policy and procedures and be sensitive to other people's abilities, backgrounds, values, customs and beliefs.</li><li>Keep up to date with competencies required by the role, undertake learning &amp; development activities identified and keep abreast of knowledge relevant to CITB NI's activities.</li><li>Any other duties as reasonably required.</li></ol>Person Specification:This position will involve wide public engagement and would suit someone who enjoys meeting and working with a variety of people. The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in built heritage and/or history, and be able to evidence this through, for example, previous volunteering experience, work experience or previous study. The project will be fast paced, and will require excellent time-management to meet project milestones, and the ability to multitask. The candidate will be using a number of different platforms and technologies to record and host content and project outputs, therefore strong IT skills are essential, but the role also offers opportunities for creativity and collaboration. Research will play a big role in delivery of project outputs and supporting the different groups involved in the project, therefore strong research skills are desirable. Mechanical Engineering Technician Belfast 36.25 hours a week £19.11 per hour MAIN PURPOSE To work as a Mechanical Engineering technician as part of the Fleet Mechanical &amp; Engineering teams within the three regional workshops to ensure service delivery of all specialist operational equipment and vehicles is met at all times. The Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) is responsible for the Inspection, diagnostics, planned maintenance, emergency repair, bodywork, Coach building and modification to all vehicles and equipment within the NIFRS fleet of Vehicles and Operational equipment. The MET will be expected to work across differing trade disciplines in carrying out their role. To participate in the Regional Standby Rota to facilitate an effective support network to ensure operational resilience is maintained out of hours. This involves carrying out the emergency repair of vehicles and equipment and vehicle recovery for operational incidents on a 24/7 basis.Asset and Services Management 1. Responsible for the repair, maintenance, modification and servicing of all NIFRS emergency response fire vehicles and supporting equipment to standards defined in legislation and best practice. 2. Responsible for diagnosis of faults, carrying out repairs and in depth overhauls on a wide range of specialist vehicles, operational equipment and components. 3. To assist other trades within Fleet &amp; Engineering services and the communication departments, where their skill set is more applicable to affect that repair, including all operational equipment. 4. To participate in the Regional Engineering on call Rota to facilitate an effective support network to ensure operational resilience is maintained out of hours. Whilst on call the MET will be expected to make all repair decisions unsupervised on all aspects of the vehicle and equipment repairEssential 1. And Have at least two years' post apprentice experience working in a trade role in their area of expertise which includes heavy vehicle. 2. Must demonstrate experience in plant mechanics and light vehicle repair. 3. Level 3 qualification as depicted in the NQF in vehicle system repair and replacement in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles. 4. Qualified to safely install, maintain and fault find both 240v and 110v electrical systems on vehicles and equipment. 5. Must demonstrate excellent record keeping of computerised repair and inspection data6. Competent in the use of IT software and computer systems. 7.
