Public &amp; Green Spaces Operator needed!! If you're a hard-working, reliable person then we want to hear from you. * Salary: £12.60 per hour * Location: Exeter * Hours: Monday - Friday 5am - 6pm * Till November 2025 with the possibility of extension Shifts begin between 05.00 and 07.00, finish between 13.00 and 18.00 covering 3-5 out of 7 days, dependent on the role. Shift patterns will be any 3-5 out of 7 days, depending on where cover is required. The main purpose of the roles is to undertake cleansing services to keep the city looking good. Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities 1. To be responsible within an identified area either solo working or as part of a team for: a. Removing litter and emptying litter bins at regular intervals as demand indicates b. Removing small amounts of graffiti, fly post removal, trimming or removing weed growth and cleaning public toilets or car parks, as necessary. c. Undertaking basic condition inspections of facilities and reporting any obvious maintenance issues. d. Identifying additional reactive work for specialist teams such as grass or hedge cutting, maintenance tasks, mechanical sweeping, tree work, large-scale graffiti removal, hot wash, etc. 2. To report issues adversely affecting the look and feel of the public realm such as damaged street scene or greenspace furniture and signs, fly tipping, stray dogs, abandoned cars, illegal use of council land, etc. 3. To undertake training on the safe use of equipment and safe working practices and to achieve a consistently good performance. To undertake work in a safe and effective manner at all times, following City Council policies and procedures, and to be responsible for your safety and that of the public. 4. To undertake basic recording of information, e.g. play equipment checks, timesheets, daily optimisation sheets. 5. To work flexibly across shift patterns when required to meet the demands of the service. 6. Such other duties relevant to the post and grading relating to the job description overall which may from time to time be deemed appropriate. New staff will be trained across all sections, including car park cleaning, toilet cleaning, City Centre solo sweeping, van routes and deep cleaning so shift start times will vary. All roles have a half hour unpaid lunch break and the current pay rate is £12.60 per hour. All roles require a full, clean manual UK driving licence. 2. To supervise and support the Public and Green Space Operators actively in the streets, parks and open spaces to meet the demand for cleansing, and grounds maintenance services. 3. To respond to requests for resources from Public and Green Space Operators, and external sources to ensure efficient operations. 4. To undertake quarterly inspections of Council owned playground equipment, writing reports and arranging appropriate levels of replacement/withdrawal/ repairs of equipment to ensure safe levels of play for young people. 5. To advise and assist people and businesses in keeping their local area looking good, acting as an ambassador for both the council and the city. 6. To work flexibly at evenings and weekends when required to meet the demands of the service 7. Blue Arrow Barnstaple is working on behalf of our client Perrigo based in Wrafton to recruit a team of Packing Operators to work on a flexible basis but ongoing basis. You will be placed on a shift pattern and given an annualised rota meaning you have visibility of your future working days and therefore can plan around this. The site itself it a supportive environment to work in and has excellent reviews from current and previous employees. What are we looking for? * Previous experience in a manufacturing setting would be an advantage but is not essential. * Able to stand for long periods of time so physically fit * Must be excellent with Timekeeping. * Good Communication skills are a must. * Ability to work on your own and as a part of a team. * Ability to pass a basic Literacy and Numeracy test. The Role: * To work within a team to pack and label completed products at the end of the production line. * Carrying our regular 'in process' checks * May include general portering duties Hours &amp; Rota: * Day and Nights shifts are available - these are either 07:00 - 19:00 or 19:00 - 07:00. * 50 minutes break given per shift - 30 minute lunch and a further 20 minute break. * You will be working 3 days and 33.5 hours paid per week. * Saturdays are a part of the rota - however you will work only 25 per year. * You will be working only 136 days per year, compared to the average person working 232! Pay &amp; Benefits: * Day Shift Pay Rate - £13.43 per hour. * Night Shift Pay Rate - £15.87 pe hour.
