Assistant Catering Manager

The Assistant Catering Manager plays a vital role in organising and supervising food preparation and service, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health and safety standards, and leading the catering staff. This role supports the Catering Manager in training staff and maintaining effective control systems and records of stock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and supervise food preparation and service.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety processes.
  • Lead and manage the catering staff team.
  • Assist the Catering Manager in training staff.
  • Maintain control systems and records of stock.
  • Rotate stock levels and minimise product wastage.
  • Resolve customer and employee complaints.
  • Develop client relationships through regular communication.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Adhere to health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Follow company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Chef

Chef de Partie

As a Chef de Partie, you will be an essential part of the kitchen, responsible for running a specific section and ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes. You will work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, bringing your expertise and passion for food to every plate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage your section (e.g., meat, fish, vegetables, pastry, butchery, sauces, grill, starches, starters, fry, pantry, and roast).
  • Prepare and cook meals according to the menu.
  • Assist in menu planning and development.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, including Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and organized.
  • Manage inventory and assist with stock rotation.
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on menu items, recipes, and dish development.

Kitchen Assistant

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team by performing a variety of tasks related to food preparation and maintaining cleanliness. You will ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly catering service, performing manual tasks associated with food production and washing up.
  • Assist in the preparation of food items and maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen.
  • Work alongside the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Work quickly and to the required standard.
  • Understand the importance of health and hygiene.
  • Utilize experience of working in a commercial kitchen.
  • Demonstrate stamina and the ability to work on your feet for most of the shift.
  • Be a great team player with good listening skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with good oral communication skills.
  • Show a willingness to learn and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Experience in basic food prep, like washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, is ideal but not essential.
