At our Annual Conference in January, staff voted for Make a Wish UK to be our charity partners.
Make A Wish create life-changing wishes for children (aged 3-17) with critical illnesses. The children they support are often enduring things most of us could never imagine. They’re going through gruelling treatment, endless medical appointments and spending time in hospital away from their home, friends and family.
When a child turns to Make A Wish, they want to grant their One True Wish in the most life-changing way possible. Whether it’s starring in their own film, walking with dinosaurs, going on an amazing holiday, meeting a celebrity hero or having a bed-room makeover; our wishes are as unique as the children that create them, and have a huge impact on their lives.
Granting their One True Wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and have a chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold.
Since being established in the UK in 1986, they’ve granted the One True Wish of more than 13,000 children with critical illnesses.
This year alone they want to transform the lives of 1,200 children and Blue Arrow will be taking on a variety of fundraising activities in order to raise funds and support a charity that enhances peoples lives at time when they need it most.
