Head Pastry Chef - Fixed Term Contract - Leisure Venue - £15 per hour

The role:

A Head Pastry Chef is required for this prestigious leisure facilities on the outskirts of Brighton. Joining and leading a brigade of professional Pastry Chefs who are thriving to deliver bespoke dessert selection for an a la carte restaurant dining as well as event catering. You will ensure the service and preparation for it runs efficiently and smoothly, is well organised and that a high level of service is provided at all times. Working up to 60 hours week, to include evenings and weekends. This is a fixed term contract from beginning of May until end of August 2018.

The venue is of a high calibre and volume, so previous banqueting experience is important. Please also note that your own transport is essential due to location.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with the Head Chef assisting in creating menus using finest ingredients
  • Train and develop skills of junior Chefs by mentoring them and passing on your knowledge
  • Work well as part of the team delivering exceptional experience to customers
  • To monitor wastage, stock rotation and required product orders
  • To ensure all statutory regulations are adhered to, such as food hygiene policies etc.

What you need to get the job:

  • Experience as a Senior Pastry Chef in a fine dining environment
  • Experience in managing and help organising other Pastry Chefs
  • Proven Patissier skills and the ability to ensure high quality and standards
  • Interest and desire to try new recipes, techniques, following the fine dining industry developments
