A Transport Planner is required for a leading Telecommunications Company based in Northallerton. Operating a fleet of over 120 vehicles out of 13 depots the planner will be responsible for planning upwards of 10,000 items per day.

Working hours: Sunday - Thursday, NIGHTSHIFT 21.30 starts


PURPOSE

Reporting to the National Planning manager, the post holder will join a small dynamic team planning and scheduling the deliveries for the 13 depots ensuring that the Supply Chain provides a high quality service to the business.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

-Route planning for national operations using an internationally renowned traffic management software

-Managing driver schedules and assisting with directions and route deviation

-Analysing planned against actual routes

-Support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers

-Ensuring that customer requirements are delivered in a timely, efficient way whilst delivering best value for money

QUALIFICATIONS

-At least GCSE ('O' level) standard including minimum grade C in Mathematics and English Language

-National and International CPC qualification preferred. Unqualified candidates may be considered however would need to undertake relevant training

REQUIRED SKILLS

-Strong and concise communication skills, both written and verbal

-Good grammatical and numerical skills

-Fully competent with IT including Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / Power point / Outlook)

-Experience in utilising transport management software.

EXPERIENCE

-Must have previous proven experience of planning transport operations, ideally within general haulage environment.

-Knowledge of transport systems and regulations
