We are looking for a fantastic Housing Options Officer to join a large housing association on a temporary basis.

The main focus of the role is working on the prevention of homelessness and ensuring that all functions are carried out within the terms of Housing Legislation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced housing officer to join a strong team.

The role:

- Managing a large and complex caseload and maintaining files in accordance with UK Legislation
- Interviewing /visiting customers and attending multi agency meetings
- Processing and managing housing applications making enquiries to determine what duty is owed to customers under the Housing Act 1996
- Maintaining Regular contact with customers in temporary accommodation, ensuring that appropriate support is offered.
- Carrying out referrals to the appropriate housing schemes
- Ability to work with a number of different agencies/contacts such as Housing Associations, landlords, Police, Fire Service and Domestic Violence Teams.

To apply for this role you must have:

- NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent
- Two years minimum experience in a housing advice role
- Detailed knowledge of Homeless Legislation and Section 184 Decisions
- Extensive knowledge of Social Housing policy, practice and procedures
- UK Driving Licence and Access to own vehicle
- Flexibility with working hours

This role is a temporary position starting on the 5th March for an initial period of 12 weeks. The pay-rate is dependant upon experience with a maximum of £23ph offered.
