We are currnently recruiting for Software Development Engineers to work with a state of the art company in Livingston, they are market leaders in their field supplying worldwide.

Ideally we are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer who is capable of programming new data acquisition modules, modules for graphical presentation and analysis modules for their existing control software.

You must be experienced in object oriented programming, using Delphi or C#, C++.  This position requires the candidate to be degree qualified in software engineering or a related engineering/science discipline.

 You will work in a team of software engineers, reporting to the manager, have good communication skills in a larger team of mechanical, optical and electronic design engineers.

Desired Skills and Experience:-

Proven experience of commercial or industrial software product development to high quality standards. Experience in all areas of software development - from gathering requirements and writing specs to testing and debugging.  Broad Microsoft Windows programming experience using Delphi or C#, C++. 
A thorough understanding of Object Oriented Design methods and patterns.  Excellent UI design skills.  Experience of using Source Code Management and Bug tracking tools. 

Additional Experience in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:

Implementing and developing Numerical Analysis techniques. Database design. Data Visualisation, charting and graphics.  Using communications interfaces such as USB and Ethernet to connect to hardware devices such as hardware controllers, sensors and cameras.   Controlling and monitoring hardware devices via stepper motors, digital I/O and ADCs/DACs.  Knowledge in acquisition, processing, analysis and interpretation of spectroscopic data, ideally Raman spectra

Salary is in the region of £35,000 to £40,000 doe
