Access Control Administrator (Temporary)

Location: Leeds

Duration: 6 months

Pay rate: £9.91

Blue Arrow are currently recruiting Access Control Administrators to work for one of the biggest Banking Groups in the UK. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with, excellent Customer service, good telephony manner, very good attention to detail, excellent key board skills and a quick learner. You will work Monday to Friday 08:00-18:00 for a total of 35 hours a week.  The rate of pay will be £9.91 per hour. This position is due to start as soon as possible after passing the mandatory security checks which include credit, criminal and referencing for the last 5 years of employment/education. Training will be given for the first 2 weeks of training, therefore no holidays can be taken during this period. Interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates.

Job objective

Carries out a range of more complex clerical/technical support tasks to deliver a quality service to customers or internal colleagues in line with agreed service standards. May be required to provide coaching and support to less experienced colleagues

Key duties


  • Produce and correctly program access control cards for colleagues and contractors throughout the Group

  • Ensure that the Group security policies and procedures with regards physical access control are applied and adhered to at all time


  • Ensure all information produced and submitted to systems is accurate and controlled

  • Deliver against service levels defined for the operations team and work on own performance levels

  • Service colleague queries by phone and e-mail with regards access control, focusing on service and security



Skill Requirements


  • Ability to follow and correctly interpret detailed operational instructions

  • Clarity of thought and a proven ability to make informed decisions and appreciation of the consequences of actions
  • Excellent Communication skills and telephony manner
  • Proven ability to work under pressure

  • Strong oral communication and confidence with dealing with individuals at all levels

  • Very high attention to detail

  • Excellent Typing and key board skills

    Very good IT Skills including Microsoft Excel and Word

Key accountabilities


  • Carry out more complex clerical/technical support tasks where answers are readily available but some judgement may be required, ensuring that the work is completed accurately and adheres to specified Group policies, processes and procedures


  • Build relationships typically at peer level in order to clarify facts, exchange information or resolve enquiries & issues escalating as appropriate


  • Act as a source of expertise to junior/less experienced colleagues providing coaching and support where necessary and identifying more formal training where appropriate


  • Identify and suggest improvements to new and existing processes, procedures and systems


  • Where required verify and check the work of other colleagues


  • When required support line management with implementation of changes in own work area


  • Demonstrate core Group values & behaviours as an active team member


  • Work is typically allocated and monitored on a weekly to monthly timeframe
