Delivering Christmas to every home and family with Royal Mail.

Tis the season of sharing, giving and receiving and when you work for Royal Mail as a postman or post woman you are personally helping to bring the essence of Christmas to the doorsteps of all the homes and businesses in your community.

With a strong sense of community and a passion for connecting with people of all ages and from all walks of life, postal workers are for many a much needed connection to the world outside of a door and the dependable link to loved ones near and far.

Being a post worker means you have the chance to make someone's day, every day - whether it is delivering a letter from friend, a smile to someone who needs it, a carefully chosen gift to be wrapped in a bow, or just a few friendly words of hello, when you work for Royal Mail you are delivering more than just the post.

There may be no better time to take on an active role like this, walking your round will ensure that you can enjoy all the mince pies and candy canes you want while still staying in shape. So, when you are eating your second helping of Christmas pud or topping up your glass of mulled wine you will know that the cold brisk mornings come rain or shine were all worth it.

A usual day will start at the Banchory delivery office on Tillybrake Road sorting the mail for your route before joining a colleague in a shared van to begin your round. Seeing a post worker walking the neighbourhood lugging a heavy bag is a thing of the past, with trolleys to help you carry your load and hand-held devices to make collecting customer signatures easy your round will take around 4 hours to complete.

If you are the type of person who loves to be outdoors and maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle with an up-beat and self-motivated outlook then this role could be perfect for you.

Getting to know the employer is an important step when applying for a job, their core values provide a valuable insight into what being part of the team is all about and Royal Mail are a great example of a Company who pride themselves upon their employee led values and culture; "We're proud to work for Royal Mail. What we do matters to people. We listen. We're trusted. Each of us is respected. We go the extra mile for our customers and for each other. Everyone contributes and works together to deliver our promises, finding ways to be more successful."
