Summary and Responsibilities Include:
Carry out repairs and preventable maintenance on vehicles and the specialist equipment used on the vehicles, Servicing and ensuring the vehicles are economical and safe, completing such tasks in a timely manner
To be able to identify and diagnose problems with vehicles and equipment.
Candidates who are suitably qualified will perform MOT's
Complete all relevant documents relating to the work undertaken and if applicable onto a Trust Fleet IT system
Attend to vehicles that become damaged and/or defective,
Participation in an out of hours call out rota within the base unit.
Observe safe working practices and health & safety regulations at all times
Attend training and development courses
Maintain records of work and attendance as required.
To carry out any other duties that may be expected within the scope and confines of the grade.
The pay rate will be dependent on experience.
Full UK Driving Licence Class C or D
City and Guilds/NVQ in Motor Vehicle Engineering
Minimum of two years post training Auto electrical experience in servicing and maintaining
Experience in dealing with cars and vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes GVW
Literacy and numeracy skills
Organisation skills and Effective communication skills
Attention to detail
Physically fit and Good Health Record
Smart clean appearance
Pass medical check
Alert and able to solve problems
To be able to obtain references for the last three years
Ability to work in a team and as an individual
Trustworthy and reliable and Maintain confidentiality
Flexible approach to hours and duties to meet needs to the client.
