Blue Arrow are recruiting for a temporary Warehouse Assistant. This role is a 6 month fixed term contract to cover Paternity. Based in Cramlington Northumberland the role is within a busy and thriving Warehouse that dispatches daily into UK and Europe.

Working within a small team this role requires someone of a proactive nature who can work unsupervised to tight deadlines, whilst still maintaining good lines of communication across all departments on dispatches and goods in. An individual willing to bring across previous experiences whilst also being taught new skills and techniques.

Lifting & manual handling will be heavily involved within the role therefore good knowledge of Health and Safety is essential. We are looking for someone to start immediately to support us during our busy Year End period.

Working hours are 8.00am to 17.00pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch.

Competency, knowledge and experience required:-

  • Goods In - Support with the planning and coordination of incoming goods, storage and dispatch of orders in a timely and efficient manner ensuring all goods are recorded and match the paperwork received;
  • Goods Out - Control of all goods leaving unit, recording all serial numbers and completing relevant paperwork;
  • Warehouse Maintenance - General tidiness of warehouse and any other jobs required;
  • Quality Control - Ensure all goods inspected comply with standards;
  • Stock Control - Responsible for ensuring that stock is utilized correctly, all equipment is within certification dates and that any shortages are identified;
  • Health and Safety - Checking all relevant areas for hazards, keeping fire escapes clear, carrying out weekly H&S checks and fire risk assessments

Although full training and support will be provided for the above, the following are requirements are crucial to success within this role:

  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft computer packages
  • GSCE qualification or higher in Math's & English
  • Forklift Licence
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High organisation skills
  • The ability to multitask, manage time and work autonomously

Start date December 1st 2017 - Salary 15-16,000pa
