Technical Estimator

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Technical Estimator will ensure alignment to the company commercial business plan and ensure the smooth running of the estimating function
The Technical Estimator will ensure that all commercial objectives and targets are met and will support the rest of the team in ensuring that their targets are met on a day-to-day basis

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support our sales teams with the timely construction of estimates and quotation that is in-line with the high level of responsiveness that we delivery to our clients every day

• Seek out and establish new suppliers of both products and services

• Support the operational team in the sourcing of new products

• Work closing with the production management team to develop our knowledge bank to support consistent and accurate estimates

• Weekly reporting

Job Requirements:

• 2 years plus experience in a similar role

• Must be able to understand the creative approach and the need for contingency planning within the role

• Must be technically competent, able to understand and work with technical drawings and instructions

• Experience and understanding of machining, hand tools, fabrication and finishing

• Experience of working with acrylics and other rigid plastics would be an advantage but we expect that other skills and knowledge around wood working and metal working will be easy to transfer

• Knowledge of printing processes would be an advantage

• A strong personality with the confidence and knowledge to challenge the status quo

• Ability to co-ordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives.

• Solid track record of commercial thinking and application

• Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.

• Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend solutions
