Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with a leading Healthcare provider, and we are currently looking to recruit several NHS 111 Health Advisors / Call Handlers to join their brand new site in Oldbury
My client are a not-for-profit' community interest company providing a diverse range of services to the NHS frontline, including urgent and emergency care, primary care, out of hours services and NHS111. They operate 365 days a year, 24 hours a day across a wide geographical area
There are both full-time and part-time positions are available. Please note this role will be based on site and is not a remote position.
Training will be full-time (even if applying for the part-time or weekend role) for 6 weeks at the Oldbury site and will be over weekdays and weekends.
The Hours and available shift patterns: (All Rota's are advised 4 weeks in advance)
There are a variety of shift patterns on offer including 4 on 4 off ranging from 15 to 37.5 hours per week.

* 4 on 4 off: 36.75 hrs, 31.5 hrs, 26.25 hrs, and 21 hrs between the hours of 12:00-24:00.
* Part time: 20 hrs between the hours of 14.00-0.00.
24 hrs per week between the hours of 13.00-2.00.
* Evenings: 30, 25, 24, 20 hours between the hours of 17:00 - 23:00
* Full time: Average 37.5 hrs between
* SPLIT shifts: 15 hours,18 hours & 22.5 hours: between the hours of 07:00am and 22:00pm, Monday to Sunday. 32 hours: between the hours of 09:00- 14:00 and 17:00-22:00. 37.5 hours between the hours of 06:00- 12:00 and 16:00 22:00.
* Weekends: 15 and 16 hours between 06:00 and 24:00
Week 1-4: 4 x 11 hour shifts Week 5-8: 3 x 11 hour shifts = 36.75hours contract Week 1-4: 4 x 9.5 hour shifts Week 5-8: 3 x 9.5 hour shifts = 31.5 hours contract Week 1-4: 4 x 8 hour shifts Week 5-8: 3 x 8 hour shifts = 26.25 hours contract
Week 1-4: 4 x 6 hour shifts Week 5-8: 3 x 6 hour shifts = 21.0 hours contract
Days: Shifts between
Salary & Pay Rates - up to £22,035 (shift dependant)
Training - £9.50
Days - £10.19
Evenings / Nights - £11.49
Weekends - £12.69

About the Role
As a member of our NHS 111 team at DHU Healthcare you will be passionate about providing safe and effective care for our patients and Healthcare professionals.
Using the NHS 111 Pathways system you will be dealing with a wide variety of calls from ordering a repeat prescription to escalating calls to a Clinical Advisor or in more serious cases you will dispatch an ambulance.

Demonstrate previous experience customer service experience
Possess excellent communication skills and telephone manner

Excellent attention to detail
Duties will include:
* Taking and dealing with a high number of telephone calls from members of the public
* Communicating with a wide range of people including patients, relatives and representatives, colleagues, appropriate staff in local primary and secondary care services, social services, ambulance services and out of hours and other related services within the local health economy.
* Delivering excellent customer service
* Dealing with a range of patients medical queries including urgent medical assistance
* Logging calls and updating information in the system in a timely and efficient manner using the in-house NHS Pathways software
* Escalate patient calls to a Clinical Advisor where appropriate
* Dispatch an ambulance in the case of an emergency or refer onto, or provide, information about other available services.

Assessment & Interview Process
The interview process will include of a successful agency registration, and a two stage interview - literacy and listening assessment, and a final interview including telephone based scenario questions. Assessments are every week at 10:00am, and are around 1 hour long - these will be based remotely so you must have access to a computer or laptop for this, and be available for one of these slots.
If you have been successful compliance checks (including 2 years referencing), an Enhanced DBS checks (Child and Adult Workforce) and Medical Assessments will then be conducted. Please note this stage can take up to 6 weeks to be completed and you are not able to start until they have been. Once the above has been successful, you must be available for 6 weeks full-time to complete the required training at Derby.
