The post holder will be responsible for ensuring there are comprehensive and effective governance arrangements in place on a Trust-wide basis in order to assure the Trust Board that risks are adequately identified and controlled.
Another key role for the postholder will be producing and maintaining the Board's annual work programme and those of its sub-committees and Board Assurance Framework, ensuring a strong relationship with the Trust's Risk Register.
Further responsibilities include:
Work with the Chair and Chief People Officer to support recruitment and renumeration of directors
Establish and maintain procedures for the sound integrated governance of the Trust which meet strategic objectives.
Organise Trust Board meetings along with those of their committees (e.g. audit, remuneration, nomination committees etc.) Collect, organise and distribute such information, documents or other papers as may be required for meetings of the Board.
Facilitate the proper induction and development of directors in their role.
Required Skills / Experience:
Previous Experience working in a director level role within Corporate Governance
Strong NHS background is essential
Ability to start a new role within a number of weeks
Desirable Skills / Experience:
Current experience working as company secretary within an NHS organisation
Educated to Masters level in Corporate Governance or relevant subject
