The Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is accountable to The Associate Director of Learning and Culture and will be the operational lead and subject matter expert for staff and patient equality, diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) improvements across the Trust.
The postholder will support the senior leadership of the Trust with expert advice on best practice in relation to identifying and evaluating opportunities and implementing solutions to improve organisational culture and staff experience as well as supporting clinical colleagues in their efforts to reduce health inequalities and improve patent experience across all protected characteristics and social demographics.
As the subject matter expert, the post holder is expected to be a role model for the Trust values and leadership behaviours, delivering to the highest standards and promoting a positive inclusive culture throughout the Trust.
The post involves collaborating with individuals and teams to develop sustainable solutions to local or Trust-wide ED&I challenges. Considering evidence based best practice and the Trust's quality improvement methodology, the role also involves the design and implementation of interventions which may include action learning, process redesign, positive action initiatives, community engagement and staff involvement.
While case work and advocacy for staff or patients are not the responsibility of this role; working with others the postholder will assist the senior leadership listen to the diverse voices of staff and patients to help them understand the challenges facing the Trust in relation to ED&I.
