Blue Arrow is recruiting for a Finance Transformation Business Analyst
This position is fully remote.
£375 per day
Role Description
SSE are looking for a candidate with deep knowledge of the Finance domain. You will have strong change management experience and a background in finance transformation. A background in the energy sector would be beneficial but not a necessity.
The Finance Transformation Programme will consider:
* Process - optimise processes throughout the finance function, including process mapping/modelling, process design (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
* Technology - deliver Technology change, including architecture design; ERP Improvements; existing Finance System Improvements;
* Data - deliver end-to-end finance data management solution, including data governance, data quality, data lineage, analytics and visualisation
* Reporting - deliver both tactical and strategic finance reporting solution(s), covering management, statutory, and regulatory reporting requirements
* Chart of Accounts - implementation of a revised chart of accounts that will underpin the processes, reporting and technology solutions of the programme.
In your role as a Finance Transformation Business Analyst you will have responsibility for:
* Delivering on programme assignments
* Ensuring customer (Business & Finance) satisfaction by providing timely, value-added services that meet or exceed expectation
* Manage stakeholder expectations spanning group business areas with conflicting priorities
* Developing long-term trusted advisor relationships with internal customers and 3rd party contacts
* Ensuring management information is provided to and easily understood by programme lead, senior management & committees
* Ensuring timely escalation & control of risks, issues, dependencies and timelines
* Establishing best practices for development, leading Proof of Concept exercises for planning and reporting
* Understanding business models and help translate this into business requirements
* Working collaboratively with relevant teams Identifying opportunities for improvement
Skills and Expertise
Finance / Accounting
* Experience of delivering transformation projects within finance functions, either as a consultant or as part of an in-house change-delivery team. This could be finance technology projects (e.g. ERP implementations) or other operating model transformations or finance process-improvement
* Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) desired
* Good understanding of financial and management accounting concepts
* Good understanding of the role of the Finance function within energy organisations, including all aspects of the finance operating model (people, data, technology)
* Understanding of the impact of the relationship between finance and other functions (risk, tax, compliance etc.)
Projects / Business Analysis
* Knowledge of and experience in formal project management methods for example Agile
* Understanding of the project lifecycle from requirements through to implementation
* Strong Business Analysis and demonstrated problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with stakeholders across all business functions to define requirements
* Ability to work with technology partners to translate these requirements into functional and technical design
* Appreciation of business and technical architecture
Other
* Strong relationship skills with experience in a customer relationship role e.g. consulting
* Well-developed interpersonal, organisational, negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills
* Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management
* Excellent Excel, PPT skills combined with strong data analysis experience
You will have excellent communication skills; with the ability to quickly gain credibility and build effective relationships with senior stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mind-set are fundamental to success in this role. Candidates will be expected to lead the delivery of changes and must be able to deal effectively with a wide range of technical and functional delivery groups to oversee delivery.
