We're recruiting for a Project Communications Officer for a client of ours based in Newcastle city centre.
The role is to optimise staff and student operational level communications for the Transformation Programme and associated change programmes, and support University Strategy operational communications aligned to the corporate level communications plan.
The role holder will play a specific lead role in developing and managing overall communications to drive and support the University Strategy and Vision, including progress with implementation.
The role is to start at the end of August, it would be working 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday paid at £15.06 per hour, with the end date of this contract being 31/08/2023.
General duties and responsibilities:
* Act as brand champion and advocate for University' proposition and reputation, activating University's narrative and key messages as part of the brand strategy.
* Ensure that all activities are consistent with legal requirements (copyright, data protection and accessibility) and compliant with the University brand and tone of Voice.
* Demonstrate a flexible attitude to change to support the University to meet existing and future needs.
* Act in a professional and corporate manner, promoting the 'One University' principle and promoting the Service within and outside the University where appropriate.
The main duties of this role include:
* Provide communicates expertise and support for a range of transformation programmes and related operational change.
* Work closely with Portfolio, Project Managers and key project stakeholders to develop, manage and deliver a communications plan for each individual project including - key messaging, channels, audience, monitoring, evaluation and review / refinement.
* Engage with key stakeholders across the University, including senior leaders and managers, and colleagues from faculties and service departments, to ensure organisational change initiatives and projects are communicated at a corporate level effectively, meaningfully and consistently.
* Produce content in a range of formats and for a range of channels and platforms, including face-to-face, staff and student portals, corporate website, email, social media, video and print.
* Work closely with Student Communications Manager, Corporate Communications Coordinator and PR and Media Managers to develop shared communications plans where appropriate, in particular highlighting any external media / reputation risks that may need mitigation and manage these risks.
* Manage an overall project communications route map on a rolling 12 months basis outlining transformation change and wider university projects in liaison with Corporate Communications and Reputation Management (CCRM) team.
* Be the communications interface between CCRM, Change Management Team and specific identified university projects to ensure all identified change projects is aligned with strategic corporate comms (owned by CCRM)
* Oversee and manage the content of the intranet pages aligned to the University strategy and transformation programme and any related changes pages, aligning to the corporate comms approach.
