Position: Development Chef
Establishment: Contract Catering
Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 P/A
Type: Permanent
Hours: 45 hours week, Monday to Friday
My client is an award-winning event company that caters for high-end luxury events and famous brands across the UK and Europe. They are currently looking for Development Chef to join the team in the state-of-the-art kitchen located in Bicester.
As the Development Chef, You will be someone who is positive, self-motivated and focused on customer. You will demonstrate initiative and ownership. Enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues. You will be flexible and adaptable to new challenges and change.
The role:

  • Assist in the Development Team in proactive innovation and development of new recipes
  • Assessing recipe feasibility to determine whether they can be produced on a large-scale volume while maintaining quality
  • Sourcing the best suppliers for products
  • Awareness of trends and utilising this in innovation
  • Concept - Launch project management

About you:

  • Have the ability to bring whole concepts together as well as working on silo products
  • Ability to quickly learn the capabilities of the current operation and work alongside the capabilities when developing products for our demanding customers
  • Ability to find a way to make the unthinkable work within current operation capabilities but also have the vision to look to the future
  • Must have an eye for detail and with good organization skills
  • Good all-round knowledge of cuisines from around the world
  • Good all-round knowledge of various cooking techniques and production processes
  • Up to date with latest food trends and innovative food orientated mindset
  • Good communication skills working closely with customers, chefs, product developers and procurement teams ranging across hospitality industry
  • Up to date with High Street restaurants trends UK and abroad
  • Good customer presentation skills
  • Ability to work on own projects as well as part of a team on larger projects
  • Problem solving, think on feet
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft excel, PowerPoint and word.
