Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer for a minimum of 6 months with a potential extension.
THE ROLE
Supporting the Payroll Supervisor, you would be responsible for the efficient, accurate and confidential processing and generation of our clients Payroll & Pension administration. You will be required to have the knowledge and capabilities to perform all duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Tasks
1. In the absence of the Payroll Supervisor ensure that all appropriate procedures are carried out in
accordance with agreed schedules in line with Policies and Procedures.
2. Work in conjunction with the Payroll Supervisor in the delivery of the Payroll functions and associated
expenses including processing, validating, and generating Bank Automated Clearing System (BACS)
in compliance with Pay as You Earn (PAYE), Superannuation Scheme, including legislative, statutory,
regulatory requirement.
3. To be responsible for the collation, processing, checking and inputting the costs of timesheets for
payroll processes.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. Grade C or above in at least 4 GCSEs or equivalent, two of which must include GCSE English Language or equivalent and GCSE in a numerate subject or equivalent.
2. Have 1 year's previous experience of working in payroll with responsibility for the full cycle of the payroll process through to BACs payment for employees and HMRC etc.
3. Be able to demonstrate competence in use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, databases and able to manage email.
4. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of security of information and confidentiality in Payroll environment.
5. Flexibility to work outside of the standard office hours as and when required
DESIREABLE
1. At least 1 year's previous experience of computerised payroll processing, e.g Cintra IQ, Sun Account System, Task or similar software system and producing reports.
