Blue Arrow are recruiting for Specialist Commercial 3rd Party Contracts Consultants for our client based near the city centre of Edinburgh. Initially working from home, the successful candidate will have a proven track-record of successfully driving value and innovation through external partner management.

The Role

The People Directorate engage a range of external partner organisations that deliver a critical component of the service we provide to our people. These partners deliver a broad range of services such as Occupational Health, Absence Management, Security Vetting etc.

This new role will be focused on managing the performance of our partners and driving continuous improvements in the ways that we work together to maximise value, efficiency and employee experience.

Job responsibilities may include:

    • Take leadership of key partner relationships to identify, drive and ensure full commercial value is realised throughout the contract lifecycle on behalf of the People Directorate
    • Leading on the procurement of new services and extensions to existing contracts
    • Act as the main conduit to improve the overall operational interface between the business and the partner organisation
    • Manage quality and delivery performance through the utilisation of continuous improvement techniques, performance reviews, risk and opportunity management and other action plans
    • Monitor and control external spend
    • Line Management of one team member who will provide administrative support

Essential Experience and Skills

    • Proven track-record of successfully driving value and innovation through external partner management
    • Experience of managing external partners to create close working relationships and drive value and service excellence
    • Strong influencing skills (able to build business partner relationship) with the ability to challenge at all levels
    • Experience of procuring contracts
    • Able to deal with complexity and analyse problems to find the root cause to develop creative and workable solutions or improvements including digitising and automating business processes
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate initiative
    • Commitment to delivering excellent employee experience

Desirable Experience and Skills

    • Knowledge of Public Sector procurement processes
    • Understanding of Lean principles
    • Knowledge of data protection principles and requirements
    • Experience of using Workday
    • Previous experience of leading a small team
