Our client offers a really enjoyable working environment, and their family culture means you will get 1 guaranteed weekend day off a week, and time off for Christmas & boxing day minimum, with up to 7 days off for Christmas week.
This role is to work at a beautiful 4*, AA rosette, 16th century Inn wedding venue. Approximately 60 minutes from London. Due to the remote location transport is required.
The venue, with its 2 kitchens and onsite butchery, hosts over 100+ weddings a year and has 4* onsite accommodation for 75+.
The site has an expansive Kitchen Garden, family-owned Farm, private Game Estate, and extensive local suppliers, and champion homegrown Kentish produce.
Our client is looking for a passionate, organised and proactive Sous Chef to add to the banqueting team.

Job Type: Full-time 50hrs/wk
Salary: £24k to £26k /year
As well as day to day running of their section, the Sous will be responsible for;
-Guiding and management of junior members of staff
-Oversee the smooth running of the function kitchen on a day-to-day basis
-Planning and leading the preparation of all function menus
-Meeting with events coordinators, weekly to discuss the coming events
-Applying best health and safety practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen
-Understanding demands of service from ordering to delivery
- Assists with training of newly hired kitchen staff.
Ideal candidates should have:
-At least 2 years' experience cooking in a banqueting/weddings/events environment.
-the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment, maintaining a cool head under pressure.
-be a reliable, talented and driven Chef,
-Extensive knowledge and practical ability in all aspects of cookery with good organisational skills
-Valid right to work in the UK
