Senior Procurement Officer

Fixed Term Contract Period: 6 months
Pay: £31k-£41k dependant on experience
Location: Milton Keynes
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
A pivotal role focusing on supplier negotiations and review of our existing contracts and other commercial arrangements. You will develop and manage a plan that secures our supply chain through a programme of tenders through to award. Reporting into the Procurement Manager, the Senior Procurement Co-ordinator will liaise with suppliers, to provide updates on outstanding orders, with regular communication with the Supply and Demand Planner. This role will work closely with the Finance team and Department of Health and Social Care to ensure that procurement legislation is adhered to.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Review portfolio of key suppliers and ascertain spend projections
2. Design and manage tender process with supplier base from inception of tender to award of contracts
3. Contribute to the review of existing processes, to work towards continuous improvement within procurement and logistics team
4. Work with Procurement Manager to design and implement supplier SLA's and KPI's to drive supplier improvement
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

* CIPS Level 4 diploma or above
* Experience of Public Sector Procurement
* Experience of OJEU forms and Contracts finder website
* Experience of running a tender process to award

2. Capability to work under pressure and proactively prioritise tasks
3. Advanced Excel skills
4. Ability to work to procedures
5. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
6. Confidence to engage with internal stakeholders and the ability to work well within a team
7. Time management skills, enabling tasks to be completed to agreed schedule
