Head Chef - St Ives, Cambridgeshire
My client combines almost 100 years of history with a modern clubhouse and stunning 18 hole golf course. They are looking for a creative, commercially minded chef looking to take a step up into this key role in this small friendly team.
They are committed to providing their members and visitors the very best fresh food that uses top quality ingredients to create tasty and well-presented dishes.
Their focus is on quality in all that they do, and are looking for someone to lead that charge in the kitchen.
You will work closely with the Clubhouse Manager to ensure the team are well trained and highly motivated in the delivery of your vision for the food at the club.
As well as the daily clubhouse menu, you will be responsible for writing, costing and producing new and interesting menus for our many functions throughout the year. Some of these events can see up to 100 people sitting for a 3-4 course meal.
You will need to be creative, work well within a small team and have good customer engagement skills. A proven record of menu creation and an almost fanatical attention to detail will also serve you well.
Experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef is essential and any direct experience working in a member's club is a huge advantage. Experience of function service as well as restaurant service and managing and training a team are also advantageous.
44 hours per week 5 out of 7 days a week subject to the demands of the business
33 days holiday (inc bank hols)
Salary £24k-£28k + up to 10% performance bonus
