Restaurant near Tavistock.
We've been renouned as one of Devon's best restaurants for over 50 years. We have a 40 cover restaurant, 16 luxury en suite bedrooms and a thriving wedding business.
We're looking for an outgoing, energetic person to join our team on a full time or part time basis.
To oversee the restaurant in the absence of the Restaurant Manager, acting as the "maitre d'hote".
To train, develop, manage and motivate staff, ensuring high standards are maintained at all times.
To plan tables, set up bar, restaurant, sitting rooms and outside patio area.
To warmly welcome guests, make them feel special and valued.
To take orders, describe dishes, communicate any allergies/dietary needs to the kitchen.
To serve food and drink, ensure guests are happy, resolve any issues, take payments.
In the evenings, to act as Hotel Manager, doing whatever is needed to ensure the comfort and happiness of guests.
To open up the hotel in the mornings and close down at night.
Salary and benefits
Salary: £21,000 + tips + 28 days holiday + pension
Working on average 40 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays.
Shifts include breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

We're looking for candidates who are confident, outgoing, great with customers, 100% reliable and always willing to "go the extra mile" to deliver outstanding service.
Previous experience leading a team is essential. Customer-facing experience /hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
You will need your own transport, as we are not on a bus route.
