We are currently seeking an experienced administrator with accounts and/or bookkeeping experience for a unique role based in Ramsey, just 14 miles from Peterborough.
The successful candidate will be offered a full time, permanent position with our client with an immediate start.
Alongside day-to-day running of the business administration, the successful candidate will also take on accountancy responsibilities following a comprehensive handover.
Our client is a small business, working on a 5.5 acre site where sometimes you may need to venture out onto the site. You must be flexible and have a hands-on approach to the day-to-day needs of the business. This could require some physical activity in a heavily industrial environment.
Duties will include:
Administration:-

  • Maintain sales invoice log. Type invoices.
  • Record Stock book independent of accounts
  • Submit NOVA declaration for European imported trucks and plants
  • Claim foreign taxes etc
  • Control of Log Books
  • Maintain shipping notes/Bills of landing/delivery notes/CMR's
  • Draft letters as required
  • Go to bank and post office as required
  • Answer telephone and take messages if need be
  • Maintain bus records.
  • Weigh people in/out re: scrap handling
  • Maintain scrap records re invoicing.
  • Notify DVLA online re: scrapped vehicles
  • Quarterly return for Environment Agency for Hazardous waste
  • Maintain Hazardous waste
  • Annual return for scrap tonnage for year
  • Ordering/booking as required
  • Ad hoc duties

Accountancy:-

  • Computerised accounts using Accountz software (on a Apple iMac computer)
  • Post sales/purchase invoices and reconcile customer/suppliers accounts
  • Post bank/cash transactions and reconcile to bank statements
  • Journals as required
  • Weekly Payroll/Monthly administration of payroll
  • Reconcile NI Control, payments
  • Reconcile and submit monthly VAT returns/Intrastats
  • Pay suppliers via online/cash/cheque/card
  • Take payment from customers via card machine/cheque/cash if not paid by bank transfer
  • End of year preparation/reconciliation of accounts/tax return info for main accountants
