General Assistant/Baker - £9,300 Part Time (25 hours term time)
Monday to Friday 1.30pm - 6.30pm
 
Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for a General Assistant/Bakery for a prestigious school.
We are looking for a person to join their existing catering team, working afternoons. The General Assistant/Bakery is responsible for supporting the chefs in the preparation and service and management of the kitchen as well as ensuring the smooth operation and fulfilment of additional food for hospitality. The successful candidate must have their own car.

 Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
To prepare & Serve all hot & cold desserts for all three services.
Liaison with Catering Manager and/or Chef with regard to additional function events and other   catering requirements. This may require presence at meetings.
Monitoring of all food and cleaning supplies and liaising with Chef and Catering Manager with regards to re-ordering.
Keeping clean all premises, equipment and utensils used in accordance with normal Hygiene legislation as directed by the Catering Manager
Take direction from the Duty Chef with regards to main meal preparation, food delivery and service
Prepare Cakes and pastries for staff and pupils outside the three main meals a day and subsequently deliver around the school to meet needs of business or prepare for collection
Ensure full awareness of who have allergies to various food stuffs and then to manage the service of food correctly from the counter at each meal time.
To take direction from the Chef's and Catering Manager on portion control and to then ensure accurate delivery at service.
Presenting themselves and kitchen in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
Support the dissemination of information with the kitchen staff by attending and participating in all required meetings.
Maintain a consistently high level of employee morale, motivation and passion for food
To undertake any other duties deemed commensurate with the post and as directed by the Catering Manager, Bursar or Headmaster.
