Head Chef- Milton Keynes - circa £30,000 (Dependent on experience)
Blue Arrow are recruiting on behalf of a leading music organisation that plays host to National Conferences as well as producing the biennial IF: Milton Keynes International Festival.
They are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef to lead a new team to build on the success and dining offer to compliment and support their activities.
To be responsible for the menu planning, preparation, presentation and service of food to appeal to a wide range of customers and artists, working with the Bar and Catering Manager to ensure financial and customer satisfaction targets are met.
Principal Responsibilities
Responsible for planning the café bar menus on a seasonal basis with additional special event menus for festivals, themed events, conferences, artist catering and meetings as required.
Working with the bar and catering manager to ensure financial targets are met
To have a working knowledge of Current Licencing Health and Safety and Food safety Legislation ensuring the latest regulations are strictly observed.
Work with the Bar and Catering Manager to ensure that an appropriate staffed café and catering function is provided for events, liaising with events team and outside catering providers where necessary.
Inform Head of Marketing to facilitate effective sales promotion of the catering offers
Working with the Bar and Catering Manager to maintain accurate stock movement records and ensure regular stock-taking is undertaken
To be responsible for recruiting, training, leading and motivating other chefs/catering assistants/kitchen staff
To ensure the efficient front of house service and clearance, supervising the cleaning and storage of cutlery, crockery and other kitchenware.
To monitor the quality of the product and service provided to ensure customer satisfaction at all times responding to comments, suggestions or complaints.
To provide relief cover for Bar Manager as required
To undertake any other duties or training as required
Key Skills
Practical experience of managing a café, restaurant or pub
Experience of devising menus and preparing food to a high standard
Experience of negotiating with suppliers
Experience of managing and training staff
Good Communication skills
Good Administrative skills
IT Literate
Experience of managing a budget
Previous experience of stock taking procedures
