BAKER - Wholesale Bakery and Kitchen located in Newbury, West Berkshire
£22,000 - £24,000 dependant on experience
Reporting to:
Supervisor (Baker) & General Manager
The Role:
  • We are looking for a baker to join the wholesale bakery team.
  • As one of the four baker team you will need to have experience in producing bread following recipes.
  • All the bread and baked produce is made using traditional methods so applicants will need to have experience of mixing ingredients, kneading, a knowledge of how doughs rise and prove, the ability to cut and fold and bake bread.
  • You will need to be able to follow a production plan, consider quantities and yields, follow recipes, and have an understanding of oven capacity.
  • You will need to place orders for ingredients and rotate stock on a FIFO basis.
  • Applicants will need to be able to problem solve.
  • Traditional bread is made and baked in an environment that can change from day to day.
  • You will need to embrace the HACCP system and its procedures and to embrace health and safety requirements.
  • The nature of the job requires availability to work late shifts starting at 6pm or at 8pm finishing at 2am or 4am.
  • Shifts are arranged on a fair rota basis, working 5 days out of 7, including some bank holidays and weekends.
  • An interest in good quality food and bread products would be appreciated.
  • Full training on the product range will be provided.

General Purpose:
To produce bread according to the company's standards and respecting its ethos. To understand the recipes and the procedures associated with bread production, including all the products on the catalogue.
