You will provide support through provision of analytics that proactively challenge the business on financial performance to drive improvements and you will execute management reports to ensure the correct MI is being used in decision making by both Finance and the Business. Working with the Lead Business Partners, you will identify and implement initiatives and opportunities such as cost reduction, product mix and customer/contract profitability.
Your responsibilities will extend to supporting the standard business performance management framework and ongoing development to align with business needs and you will identify key risks and opportunities which will inform plans, forecasts and management reporting. You will provide a broad range of detailed and insightful business analysis in order to facilitate decision making and identify potential improvement opportunities and you will support the execution and consolidation of the annual BU budget and provide financial insight and analysis as necessary to ensure budgets are accurate and realistic.
You will review financial statements and management reporting on behalf of the Lead Business Partner where applicable and you will work closely with the Finance Operations team to ensure the accuracy and reliability of reporting.
To be successful in this role, you should be a fully or part qualified accountant with relevant experience in a Business Partner / Finance Manager/ Management Accountant role with experience of solving business issues of similar scale and complexity. You should have experience of interpreting and assimilating multiple data sources including external market data and you should have strong analytical and financial modelling skills. You should drive to seek efficiencies, be proactive in your approach, flexible and have strong attention to detail. Utilities knowledge is an advantage but not essential.
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you should have the ability to manage multiple complex projects and processes simultaneously and be operationally and commercially focused. You should be proficient in the use of MS Office applications; in particular Excel. An in depth knowledge of ERP software, in particular Hyperion and Oracle would be advantageous.
