Revenues Officer
Full time hours
08:30am - 17:00pm
£8.21 p/h paid weekly
Temporary ongoing contract

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to work as a Revenues Officer with one of our clients who is the largest business process outsourcing and professional services company in the UK!

As the Revenues Officer you will maintain customer accounts and administer revenues procedures for Council Tax for the various contracts the company are responsible for and to respond to customer enquiries.
Key responsibilities:

To maintain local taxation customer account records
To maintain and amend customer accounts and arrange for bills to be issued to Council Tax Payers in line with established procedures
To respond to correspondence and telephone enquiries and to assist generally with other Revenues administrative duties
To amend, update and reconcile property valuation records and to ensure both annual and amended taxation bills are issued promptly and accurately
To refer new or changed properties to the Valuation Office
To administer the various payment methods, including postal remittances, and instalment schemes available to customers
To verify and administer requests for refunds and arrange for repayments to customers

* To respond to customer's personal, telephone, electronic and written enquiries concerning liability, bills and reminder notices

Meeting set work targets with minimal errors

By agreement, working at different sites to assist in the fulfilment of contracts the company may make with other Local Authorities

Carry out other duties, such as filing, enveloping letters, as required

Essential Skills:

Excellent Customer Service, both written and verbal

Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

Have a flexible and adaptable approach to work

Experience working towards deadlines

Ability to work in a team as well as independently

IT literate especially with Microsoft Word and Excel

Desirable Skills:

Experience of processing work in a Council Tax office and knowledge of Council Tax legislation
* IRRV qualification

This role is offered on an ongoing temporary basis.
