Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter / Driver for our client based in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire. 

As a Kitchen Porter / Driver, your role will be to load, deliver and collect boxes of food and other goods to and from different areas of the site, and undertake general cleaning and kitchen duties within the Domestic Services kitchen.

Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday - Friday. 
Shift patterns are 7:00am - 3:00pm and 10:30am - 6:30pm, with a 30 minute unpaid break.
This is a temporary position for approximately 3 months.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Load boxes of food and other goods on to the delivery vehicle.  Drive delivery vehicle and deliver and collect boxes daily around the site.
  • Wash, dry and put away pots and cooking utensils for the Chefs and Restaurant.  Load and unload dishwasher and provide clean crockery and cutlery for restaurant.
  • Check the chemicals needed for dishwasher, drain cleaner and general use in the kitchen.  Replenish as necessary.
  • Preparation of orders and loading and delivery of goods and other store duties as required.
  • Keep the kitchen in an acceptable state of cleanliness at all times, sweeping and washing the floor daily.  Assist with deep cleaning at regular intervals.
  • Adhere to statutory and agreed Health and Safety procedures, as directed by the Chef Manager. Handle all food hygienically and use all equipment safely.  Use chemicals in accordance with COSHH sheets and using PPE.
  • Carry out any other general kitchen duties as directed by the Chef Manager or Senior Duty Chef.
  • Remove rubbish from the kitchen to the refuse collection point.  Keep the refuse area clear of debris.
  • Inform the Chef Manager or Senior Chef on duty of any malfunction of delivery vehicles or equipment.
  • Wear correct PPE and follow personal hygiene rules at all times.
  • Collect soiled laundry and deliver clean laundry on completion from the laundry building.
  • Attend any training relevant to the post.

As this is a regulated site, you will be required to hold an Enhanced DBS.  If you do not have a valid DBS, we will do all the administration for you.
