Blue Arrow is currently recruiting experienced cattle farmers for an ongoing contract with a local client in Southampton, Stockbridge area.


You will be responsible for the daily care and management of cattle raised for beef production.

Here's an overview of the job for interested candidates in a career as a cattle farmer.


Duties may include:

  • Feeding cattle


  • Administering medication


  • Maintaining facilities


  • Monitoring the herd for signs of illness


  • Assisting with calving


  • Performing artificial insemination


  • Managing waste


You will be working with large animal veterinarians to maintain the health of cattle through vaccination and medication protocols.

Training can be provided in cattle handling, or where needed, etc.

It is not uncommon for cattle farmers to work weekend, evening, or holiday shifts.

The contract requires full time hours availability, flexibility, to be very reliable, has their own car (due the location's address) and is prepared to work long hours when necessary

The pay rate vary from £8ph to £10ph based on their experience.

The work many involve working in extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions.



For the right person there may be the possibility to be transferred on a permanent contract, subject to work quality and commitment.
