Job Overview

Our client is a large University site and is looking for highly motivated, fun loving and enthusiastic individuals with a proactive approach and solid catering management experience to provide a high quality food and beverage service and customer experience to both internal and external customers. Looking after 3 catering units of different styles, your contracted hours would be 36.5, 5/7 days a week.

Role Responsibilities:
  • To be accountable for the short, medium and long term strategic development.
  • To achieve and where possible exceed budgeted sales and contribution targets, whilst demonstrating a rigid control of all associated costs.
  • To be accountable for the outlets and external events trade on a day to day basis in accordance with policies.
  • To be operationally responsible for all Food Safety and Hygiene matters.
  • To embark upon a continuous programme of procedural and practical improvements to drive greater efficiency within and across all outlets.
  • To provide a safe and welcoming social environment for the Membership.
  • To be operationally accountable for all staffing matters in the outlets, ensuring that all members of staff are trained to the standard appropriate to their post.
  • To regularly and rigorously undertake financial analysis of all parts of the monthly/year end Budget Reports.

How To Be Successful:
  • Good general education, typically to the Higher/A level equivalent
  • Extensive experience managing and developing a successful commercial catering activity
  • Extensive experience of managing a team of staff
  • Marketing experience, including analysing markets and developing plans
  • Experience of working within a student market
