Sous Chef - Events Company - Poole - £28,000

Role Overview:


An events catering company based in Dorset which prides itself on an excellent standard of service is currently recruiting for a Sous Chef. This company offers great opportunities for career progression and development. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef to join the team. As a Sous Chef you will work 5 out of 7 days per week - straight shifts 45 - 48 hours per week. This is an event chef's role so you will have prep days that will be day shifts and then event days which will mainly be catering for weddings and parties. You will be expected to work most Saturday's but Sunday work will be alternated on a rota basis amongst the team.


Main Duties and Responsibilities as a Sous Chef (Poole):

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting food in line with required standards at the prep kitchen and then at the event
  • Ensuring the food is served in the right manner and that each event runs smoothly
  • Ensuring the quality and portion size of the food meets the correct standards
  • To control and maintain the stock levels
  • To supervise the team
  • To comply with relevant health and safety guidelines

What You Need To Be a Successful Sous Chef (Poole):


  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Creativity and keen interest in food and cooking
  • Experience cooking to a high standard preferably rosette level
  • Experience in event catering or function catering essential
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate will be advantageous
  • Driving License required
