Head Chef - Education Unit - Richmond, Surrey - £30 - £33k

Head Chef needed to work on an education site, based in a private school in Richmond, Surrey. This would be a great opportunity for a head chef looking to progress in a national contract catering company that has an emphasis on quality fresh food.

You'll be catering for the students, working 5/7 days, straight shifts, some weekend work is expected. Your contracted hours will be 40 per week. Salary is £27000-£28000.

The site gives great benefits and an enjoyable working environment, with room for progression and development with menu's etc.  this is great for someone who's looking to get into contract catering, especially if you are from a hotel background and need to do less hours.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Head Chef  - Richmond

Manage and deliver all catering services within the catering outlet, with the help from the catering Manager.

  • To prepare food for service with a focus on high standards of presentation, quality and portion control.
  • To develop seasonal menus
  • To negotiate with suppliers
  • To ensure all food production and storage areas within the venue are maintained
  • Assist the Trading Services team with the coordination of special functions and projects as may be requested.
  • Manage people and activities
  • Take responsibility for health & safety within their teams.

What you need to be successful in the Head Chef role - Richmond

  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • The ambition to plan and execute special events, including 5 Star hospitality, summer balls, elegant dinner parties and special themed days
  • Team player, self-motivated, proactive, flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate and manage interpersonal relationships, including influencing skills.
  • A friendly and personable nature is paramount to this role, as you will be conversing with residents regularly. These are your customers.
