Are you passionate about working in a kitchen and looking to expand on your experiences and skills? Then we have the perfect job for you.

We are currently recruiting for a commis chef to work in a well-established business in the Poole area. You'll be on the first rung of the ladder to becoming a great chef. You will complete food preparation work and basic cooking under the supervision of a chef de partie or section chef, rotating through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish and butchery ETC. This position also can offer accommodation through the week depending on the shift you are rota'd to work (not live in position).

Duties include
  • To assist and monitor food stocks and stock movement.
  • Understand daily departmental costs and how they influence profit and loss results.
  • To ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
  • Learn and record skills and recipes from other members of the department.
  • Follow the cleaning schedules for the kitchen and clean the section and other areas as directed.
  • To ensure stock is controlled and rotated. Accept and store deliveries
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef immediately.
  • Comply with the conditions of the food hygiene policies.
  • To be flexible and willing to help other departments at busy times if required.
