Our client are looking for a Bars Supervisor to join their busy team at a local university to be responsible for the day-to-day operation and supervision of the bar. Supervising and assisting in the development and the performance of the team, while delivering and promoting excellent standards of customer service. Creating a friendly and welcoming environment to encourage students to use the Campus Bars.

Duties include;
The supervison of staff in the day-to-day operation of the unit to the agreed standards of service.

Delegating tasks to staff to cover the service.

Conducting checks/audits/monitoring service and taking remedial action as appropriate.

To provide and promote an excellent customer experience, receiving customer feedback and dealing with it appropriately in accordance with procedure.

Organising staff rotas around the business need and within agreed budget levels.

To be responsible for the opening and closing down of the unit ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed to maintain security of stock, cash and the premises.

To commit to continuous improvement by proactively seeking ways to improve the customer experience.

To ensure cash handling transactions are carried out efficiently and in a safe manner.

To assist in the achievement of budgeted targets on wages, food and bar stocks.

Using University systems for the ordering and receipting of stock and checking stock levels against business requirements.

To carry out stock takes in accordance with procedure.

To oversee that staff are fully compliant with all legislation, in particularly food safety, health & safety, Trading Standards and Licensing Laws.

To drive sales through marketing and promotional activities and by working with students to respond to their needs.

To promote excellent standards of hygiene in accordance with current legislation.
Demonstrate a team-orientated approach to working within the halls bars and across the wider University.

To promote and encourage team working within the units

Working with the Retail & Bars Development Manager and the Deputy Retail & Bars Development Manager in motivating and creating a positive team culture and identifying barriers to effective team working.

This post is for 27 hours week for 32 weeks per year.
