Role Overview-

Recruiting a Head Chef for a privately owned, AA 4 Star, 76 bed Hotel with extensive Conference, Banqueting and Event facilities and a vibrant bar operation. This is a great opportunity to make an impact on the Hotel, you will be supported every step of the way.

You will need to have fast paced experience and be able to run a successful kitchen operation to include Restaurant, Bar, Conference Centre and Weddings.

They currently have a 2 Rosette Restaurant but want to put the fun back into their business as its all got very serious so therefore they have decided to move away from the fine dining accreditation and head towards a high quality grill operation, still the same high standards and superb food quality and service.



· Team management to provide strong direction
· Control and manage all food safety
· Previous Hotel Experience
· Concession management
· Excellent business acumen with a proven track record in P&L management
· An outstanding ability to manage food and labour margins
· Experience of managing a multi-outlet operation
· Strong background in training and developing junior chefs
· Excellent communication and team work skills
· A robust leadership style that inspires others
· A creative eye and passion for food
· Ensure all menus are within the department budgets and good financial awareness including payroll essential
· Develop menus with the General Manager and deliver what guests require





Main duties and responsibilities of the Head Chef (Guildford):

- Implement Health & Safety legislation and COSHH at all times
- Cooking and preparation of high quality meals for potentially large volumes of customers
- Organising the other members of your team and delegating responsibilities
- Working with the more junior members of staff and training them
- Using fresh ingredients to make good, quality food.



What you need to be successful in the Head Chef role (Guildford):
  • Strong man management skills
  • Works well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and able to work as part of a team
  • NVQ's level 1, 2 or equivalent
  • Passionate personality that will reflect in your food and your team members
