General Manager - Restaurant/Events venue - Near Fareham - Up to £30k

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Manager to run a Restaurant with a function room which caters for events near the Fareham area. They are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operation of the venue, who has perhaps come from a Restaurant/Events/Hotel background. The venue caters for a wide range of events including weddings, private parties and corporate events. You will report directly into the owners of the Catering business and will be responsible for planning and selling events, along with the hands on management of the business.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Hands on management of the restaurant and the events/functions
  • Sales to develop future and repeat business
  • Manage and train the team to ensure 5 star standards are consistently met
    • Deal with customer enquires relating to planning or holding an event
    • A strong focus on customer service as well as sales
    • Working to budgets and targets to ensure the business profitable

Candidate requirements:
  • Previous experience in Event/Banquet management and Restaurant management
  • Experience in both operations and sales in events/banquets
  • Strong financial acumen and an understanding of costs and P&Ls
  • A confident person who can build rapport with customers
  • Sales skills to build client base and develop relationships
  • Implement standards and procedures and train staff to deliver excellent customer service
