Assistant Manager - Dorchester - Live in flat - £8-£9p/h

The role:

An Assistant Manager is required for an award winning country pub with rooms. They serve fresh, locally sourced food and it is located near the picturesque town of Dorchester. As an Assistant Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager and assist with running the pub. The successful candidate will work a 42-45 hour week, 5/7 days, a mixture of straight and split shifts. This is a privately owned company who have several fresh food pubs in their group and provide excellent training courses. A self-sufficient double room flat is also available if needed.

As Assistant Manager your main duties will be:

  • Assist and deputise in the absence of the General Manager
  • Hands on management of the food led pub
  • Develop, train and motivate the team

  • Manage the cellar

  • Assisting with room bookings

  • Deal with customer queries and complaints

  • Ordering and monitoring stock

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience as Assistant Manager or Supervisor in a quality pub or restaurant

  • Good food and drink knowledge

  • A basic understanding of cellar management and stock ordering

  • A passion for hospitality and customer service

  • Basic knowledge of Profit and Loss

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
