We are looking for a candidate who will be welcomed into a team that maintains the local Council's property and assets. Varied and wide-ranging, challenging and engaging, the work you will undertake will include day to day reactive repairs and planned maintenance across our picturesque districts. Either working alone under your own initiative or as an important part of a larger team on project work, we will ask that applicants have a flexible approach to their workday to meet the demands of the reactive and planned repairs we undertake.

Days of Work: Monday to Friday
Hours of Work: 09.00 - 17.00
Start: ASAP
Duration: Until September 2024

What you will be doing
To undertake works as detailed on task sheets and specifications as instructed.
To ensure that all work is always completed to the relevant professional standards.
To liaise with the Supervisor/Senior Specialist to ensure that the work is completed on time and to the required standards.
To ensure that the local Council's resources and equipment is used safely and to the best advantage.
To accurately record time and materials used on each task.
To conduct regular inspections of tools, plant and equipment and the vehicle that the post holder may be required to drive.
To attend training courses related to the post holder's role as required.
To always maintain a professional conduct with members of the general public and our customers.
To respond politely to any complaints made by the public whilst working.
Collecting materials and goods from suppliers and assisting with unloading goods in the yard.
To undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Management team.
To be aware of the Property Services role and responsibilities.

Skills & Experience Required
Full UK Driving Licence.
Professional Trade Qualification
Working within the building/property industry. Experience of basic carpentry, plastering, tiling, and small building works related to property maintenance would be an advantage.
Use of power and hand tools.
Working from height.
