Catering Assistant - Coleraine

We are currently seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team within a hospital setting in Coleraine. This role operates on a 5‑day rota out of 7, supporting the delivery of safe and high‑quality patient catering services.

Location Coleraine

Working Pattern 5 days out of 7

Shift times: (Must be flexible for both shifts)

• 7:00am - 1:30pm
• 1:30pm - 7:00pm

Pay Rates

• Monday-Friday: £12.51 per hour
• Saturday: £17.64 per hour
• Sunday: £22.90 per hour

Key Duties (Hospital Catering Setting)

• Preparing and serving meals to patients, staff, and visitors
• Assisting with basic food preparation (e.g., sandwiches, salads, portioning meals)
• Setting up meal trolleys and delivering meals to wards
• Collecting trays and returning trolleys to the kitchen
• Cleaning kitchen areas, equipment, and work surfaces
• Washing dishes, utensils, and catering equipment
• Following strict food hygiene, safety, and infection‑control procedures
• Supporting kitchen staff with general catering tasks as required
• Ensuring accurate meal portions and correct dietary requirements are followed (e.g., soft diets, vegetarian, allergy‑safe meals)

Essential Requirements

• Food Safety Level 2
• COSHH Training
• Manual Handling Training
• Food Allergens Training

Desirable

• Knowledge of Dysphagia diets
