We are currently seeking a Temporary Assistant Arts Development Officer for our Client in Lisburn.The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for implementing the grants payment and monitoring processes within the Client.Rate of pay £15.21 per hour.This role is 37 hours per week between Monday -Friday. 9am-5.30pm Duties include:The following gives an indication of the main duties and responsibilities of the post. These may change over time. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and carry out any work that is reasonably required and appropriate to the grade. Grants Assessment:<ul><li>Assess whether financial and administrative information provided meets the clients criteria and prepare appropriate reports.</li><li>Create and maintain appropriate records on the grant administration systems.</li><li>Attend and support the Arts Development Officer at moderation meetings.</li></ul> Grants Monitoring:<ul><li>Monitor and track the administrative and financial aspects of awards as appropriate to ensure compliance.</li><li>Undertake the checking of financial paperwork, e.g. quotation and receipt checking and initiate payments within delegated limits.</li><li>Compile financial and other reports to inform management decisions.</li><li>Under the direction of the Director of Operations, validate and verify client project expenditure records through on site visits; compile short report indicating any findings and / or follow up action (including ensuring processes and systems comply with audit standards.)</li><li>Respond to queries and support the Director of Operations as necessary.</li></ul> Client Relations:<ul><li>Manage a specified portfolio of clients through planned contact.</li><li>Participate in client/sectoral meetings in support of Arts Development Officers as required.</li><li>Provide advice and guidance at pre project stage and through the application process and the life of the project.</li></ul> Other:<ul><li>Support the implementation of the Arts Council's policy in relation to its statutory compliance functions.</li><li>Support ad-hoc projects/initiatives as they arise.</li><li>Demonstrate support for the clients service charter.</li><li>Attend team meetings.</li><li>Undertake any other appropriate duties which may reasonably be allocated.</li></ul> Essential Criteria:PERSON SPECIFICATION <ol><li> EDUCATION: Educated to at least 'A' level standard or equivalent PLUS</li></ol> English (Language) and Mathematics to at least GCSE (Grades A-C) standard or equivalent. You must be able to commit to completing all relevant training associated with the role. EXPERIENCE <ol><li>ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE You must be able to demonstrate a breadth and depth of experience across the principal duties of this post. To demonstrate this you will possess a minimum of 2 years full time experience within the last 4 years in a similar role/post involving general administrative duties which included the administration of projects, schemes and initiatives, verification of data input and the maintenance of manual and computerised record systems.</li></ol> <ol start="2"><li>ANALYTICAL ABILITY AND EVALUATION SKILLS The ability to assimilate and analyse information quickly and accurately, assess and evaluate applications for funding against stated criteria, formulate decisions and make recommendations. Monitor and assist organisations in the evaluation of their awards.</li></ol> <ol start="3"><li>COMMUNICATION/INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills in dealing with people at all levels (both internally and externally).</li></ol> <ol start="4"><li>IT SKILLS The ability to make appropriate use of the Arts Council's IT systems and software packages especially the components of MS Office, email and the internet.</li></ol> <ol start="5"><li>WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.</li></ol> <ol start="6"><li>EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY An appreciation of equality of opportunity issues as they relate to both access to the arts and employment.</li></ol> <ol start="7"><li>HOURS OF WORK The post holder must be willing and able to work outside the Arts Council's normal office hours.</li></ol> The Recruitment Co is a corporate member for the Recruitment and Employers Confederation operating as an Employment Business for the recruitment of temporary vacancies RecCoLisburn
