With over 500 staffing professionals across more than 70 locations, Blue Arrow is one of the UK’s largest specialist recruitment consultancies, and we’re delighted to be working with Unite Students, the leading provider of student accommodation in the UK.
University life isn’t always plain sailing, but Unite Students believes that with the right support and surroundings, students can successfully navigate themselves through this exciting, sometimes challenging, time. It’s what Unite Students calls a ‘Home for Success’.
From humble beginnings in Bristol in 1991 to being listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange in 2000, Unite Students has evolved to become the largest provider of purpose-built student accommodation in 25 cities across England, Scotland and Wales. Each year, Unite Students provides a home to around 70,000 students, as well as thousands of jobs across the UK as the first Real Living Wage employer in its sector.
Unite Students provides spaces that are designed for studying and socialising. Taking care of the basics and ensuring everything is well equipped and easy to use, the focus is on creating an environment for students to form friendships, expand their network and create life-long memories. In fact, Unite Students supports students in all manner of ways, adapting to their changing needs so they can succeed personally and academically, creating vibrant communities where everyone can embrace independence and find their true selves.
If you join Unite Students, you’ll find it’s an organisation that’s focused on doing things in the best way possible, both for students and employees.
Unite Students strives to be responsible across all areas of its business. From creating a diverse and highly skilled workforce that feels valued and engaged (there’s a 40-strong Diversity in Action Group), to ensuring the organisation has a positive social and environmental impact in local communities (every employee has the opportunity to take part in a rewarding volunteering programme), it’s an interesting and inspiring place to work.
Always innovating and improving, the organisation launched the sector-leading Positive Impact sustainability scheme in 2014 – a change-and-engagement programme that teaches people about sustainability and social responsibility and how to take effective action. It was also the first purpose-built student accommodation provider to offer a student wellbeing service in 2015.
Unite Students is also the principal supporter and accommodation partner of the Unite Foundation, an independent charity that provides care-experienced and estranged students with scholarships that cover their accommodation and bills during their time at university. Since then, 514 scholarships have been awarded and 185 Unite Foundation graduates are pursuing their dreams. Unite Students has also sponsored Bristol Pride since 2017 and Manchester Pride since 2019.
Unite Students is on the lookout for people who constantly want to make things better, who always finish what they start and are not afraid to make their voices heard when something's not right. The organisation needs people who know that great teams are more than the sum of their parts and who take pride in doing things well. If that sounds like you then a job with Unite Students could be just what you’re looking for.
What’s more, with its nationwide reach, Unite Students has job opportunities available at student accommodation sites across the UK in Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, London and Manchester.
